Why 100ml still matters in 2026
You may have seen the headlines this year: several UK airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Edinburgh and Birmingham — have installed new CT scanners and scrapped the old 100ml liquid limit, allowing containers of up to two litres through security. It sounds like good news for packing, but it's not the full picture yet.
Manchester, Liverpool, Stansted, Luton and Glasgow are still working through their scanner rollout and enforcing the traditional 100ml rule in the meantime, and most airports outside the UK haven't moved away from it either. Because your outbound and return airports can easily be on different systems, and because the rules can change at short notice — the simplest and safest approach is still to pack everything at 100ml. Packing tips for a plastic-free trip abroad
- Refill, don't rebuy. Skip the travel-size minis from the supermarket and top up your Full Circle bottles from your usual refill instead.
- Go solid where you can. Solid shampoo bars, conditioner bars and toothpaste tablets are brilliant travel companions, no liquid limits to worry about and no risk of leaks in your case.

- Pack a tote bag. Handy for beach days, markets and bringing home anything you pick up along the way, without reaching for a plastic carrier.
Packing tips for plastic-free camping
Camping already has a lower footprint than most holidays abroad, but it's easy to undo that with disposable everything. A few swaps help:
